Richard E. Chambliss
Richard (Rick) began practicing with Broening, Oberg, Woods &Wilson, P.C., in 1995 with fifteen years of prior experience in the areas of complex commercial and real estate litigation, commercial and real property transaction practice and creditors rights. Five years after he moved his practice to Broening, Oberg, he was offered and accepted a position as a shareholder with the firm.
Additionally, Rick has represented a variety of clients in the purchase and sale of real property, including vacant land, improved property, commercial properties and has represented buyers and sellers in assets sales and sale of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. Rick has also served as a settlement conference judge, mediator and arbitrator in private arbitrations.
Rick is recognized as one of the leadings lawyers in the foreclosure industry, having served as the President of the Arizona Trustee Association (for three two terms of two years each), has lectured on various foreclosure topics in Arizona, Nevada and California, and has served as the chairman of the Legislative Committee for the ATA for over nine years, monitoring proposed legislation and working with legislators for improvements in the foreclosure laws. He was selected as one of the top-rated real estate lawyers in 2013 by American Lawyer Media and Martindale Hubbell. He has been rated AV by Martindale Hubbell since 1996.
Mr. Chambliss is almost an Arizona native, having moved to Phoenix when he was a very young boy. He received his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) and his juris doctorate degree from Arizona State University. He is married and enjoys the challenge of the golf course.
Rick's practice has focused on real property disputes, business disputes and professional liability. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in State and Federal court and has appeared before the Arizona Court of Appeals, Arizona Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
